Jack Buonocore obtains $3.75 million jury verdict in diner taking

A Morris County jury awarded the owner of the former Traveler’s Diner in Dover $3.75 million on March 15, 2011, as just compensation for the taking of its diner property in 2008 in connection with a new bridge at the intersection of Routes 46 and 15 by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.  McKirdy & Riskin’s Jack Buonocore served as trial counsel to the owner, and was quoted in articles in the Star-Ledger and Daily Record about the trial.  NJDOT had originally offered less than $2 million for the property, but the jury disagreed and awarded the exact sum sought by the owner.
